Facilities at our base in Mylor include parking, warm showers, changing rooms and a classroom. The harbour also has a cafe and wine bar as well as a laundrette.

Our instructors have over 20 years experience of teaching kayaking.  All are BCU qualified and have worked around the world teaching sea kayaking, surf and white water kayaking.

Our aim is to build your confidence on the water. Our class sizes of no more than four allow for lots of individual coaching and a personal feel. If you have never been in a sea kayak before or you only have a little experience and are looking to develop your kayaking skills then our beginner full day sessions are for you.

Improving basic skills is a constant, whether it is forwards paddling or stopping yourself capsizing with support strokes. To really master these skills and do them well takes practise. Our aim is to build your skills to develop self-reliance on the water giving you the confidence to eventually go exploring without an instructor.

Paddle to a remote beach while practising some skills on the way, forage for sea beet and rock samphire then sit back and enjoy the view as these are cooked for you on an open fire. Smell the popcorn and taste the fire roasted beetroot, sweet potatoes and sausages. Finish off with the traditional marshmallows on sticks (dietary needs can be catered for)

The kayak adventure is a full day consisting of a longer paddle in the morning, a relaxed 2 hour lunch stop and forage, finished off by a relaxed paddle back. We can include as much or as little kayaking tuition as you want.

The hire kayaks are sit-on tops, with either singles or doubles to choose from.  They can be hired for one hour through to a full day – we are fully flexible to make your experience of paddling the Fal River as memorable as possible.

From the harbour you can explore up the creeks, spotting wildlife, or visit the Pandora Inn– a 13th century thatched pub with its own pontoon.  Further up the river you can stop on the beach at the National Trust’s beautiful Trelissick Gardens.

Booking is recommended during the school holidays to avoid disappointment.

Salt Air Adventures Kayak centre is based at Mylor Harbour, which has toilets, warm showers and changing facilities.  There is also a cafe and restaurant on site if you require lunch, dinner or a refreshing drink after your time on the river.
