Day 1 will focus on the fundamentals including rope-work, belaying, basic knots, climbing communication, guidebook interpretation and safe use of technical climbing equipment. Day 2 will build on the skills learnt and include an abseiling session. With an emphasis on learning through doing, there will be plenty of opportunity to try many rock climbs at different grades and difficulties putting new skills into practice.
Throughout the weekend, you will receive coaching on climbing movement techniques and we will also discuss the history, ethics and progression of Trad climbing in the UK. So whether this is your first time ever, or you have climbed at an indoor facility and wish to progress outdoors on real rock, this is the perfect introduction to one of Britain’s fastest growing sports.
