Sea Kayaking Sessions


Learn to sea kayak over four weekly sessions, whether you are a complete beginner or wish to improve your skills our instructor can cater for your needs.

For just £96 learn to sea kayak over four weekly sessions. Whether you are a complete beginner or wish to improve your skills our instructor can cater for your needs. Our group size of only four allows for plenty of individual coaching in a fun and relaxed environment. Our aim is to build your confidence and skills on the water. The Fal estuary in Cornwall is a great place to enjoy this activity, with its beautiful creeks and sheltered water.

Women Only Evenings

Learn a new sport and get fit while enjoying yourself in the outdoors. We are offering evening sessions, 6pm – 8:30pm. A great way to make the most of the summer evenings.

Over 50’s Evenings

With the sport of sea kayaking there is no retirement age! Sea kayaking is a really accessible sport and a great way to enjoy the outdoors. We are offering evening sessions, 6pm – 8:30pm.

Open to all AM or PM

Well nearly everyone, our equipment is best suited to 14yrs – 100 plus! We have the choice of morning or afternoon sessions, AM sessions are 9:30am – 12:30pm and PM sessions are 1:30pm – 4:30pm.


If the dates do not suit you then give us a call and we can often arrange a session for a date that does fit your diary.

Below are some of the skills we will cover:

  • Introduction to the equipment and how to fit it to you
  • Safe lifting, carrying and launching skills
  • Forward paddling (this includes way more than you might think such as posture in a kayak, use of your whole body and paddle positioning)
  • Different methods of steering the kayak
  • Stopping and paddling backwards
  • Capsizing and rescue (this will be covered on dry land and those that want to will have the opportunity to practice it in the water towards the end of the day)

Depending on the skills you start with and your progress we may have time to continue to build yours skills further. This could include introducing support strokes (these help to prevent a capsize), the effect of the environment and weather on kayaking, and the skill of edging (this helps to steer the boat and is really useful if you wish to progress your kayaking further).

The great news is you can learn these skills while exploring the beautiful River Fal Estuary. However, if this sounds like too much instruction for you book us for a guided paddle instead. You will still learn enough of the basics to enjoy your trip.

Equipment provided includes: Sea Kayak, paddle, buoyancy aid, spray deck, cag/windproof, and helmet for the sessions that require it.

Please note if we have adverse weather conditions then the dates may go on for a further week.

The sessions will run with a minimum of 2 people, if they are unable to run due to lack of interest we will offer to move you to the next available course or issue a full refund.
